Conducting business in the global market is a necessity for most companies these days, and seeking out every advantage to provide that extra edge to compete in the global arena is becoming even more crucial. UW’s upcoming program is aimed squarely at improving the credibility of professionals and companies aspiring to excellence in international trade.
Here’s some exciting news from the University Waterloo about a promising new accredited program: The Certified Trade Professional (CITP):
GOING GLOBAL?
Does your company’s international team possess all the necessary skills to compete internationally?
The University of Waterloo will be launching a new, accredited program in international trade aimed at professionals and companies who are pursuing international business opportunities. The Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) is the only professional trade designation of its kind and is earned by completing courses and meeting standards set by the Ottawa-based Forum for International Trade Training (FITT).
Participants will be recognized as possessing key competencies in international trade of the highest standard, thereby differentiating them from competitors and creating instant credibility worldwide. Courses begin in the fall, consisting of eight two-day courses, from late September until May, 2012. Applicants will be tested for existing skills and knowledge in international trade and would only be required to take courses in the topics where supplementary training is required. Discounts for small businesses are available.
