The Pulse of Manufacturing in Cambridge

No one knows what the future holds, but for the manufacturing sector in the Cambridge area, it looks promising.  Yesterday, The Record reported on results from a survey conducted by the city of Cambridge trying to get a pulse on the local manufacturing sector.  Of the businesses that participated in the survey, the consensus was that they were happy to operate in Cambridge and in some cases plans to expand were on the horizon, but they felt that there needs to be more support from the city to make things a bit easier to continue the momentum.  Generally, the majority of manufactures want to see: lower taxes, better traffic flow, an “open for business” attitude, incentives for investing in green technology, reduction or waiving of development charges and building permit fees, promoting of “shop local” and help for companies to work together to create synergies.  This is only the tip of the iceberg.  I have provided a link to the article if you would like to read more about the survey results.
