A $3.7-million investment from Lockheed Martin, one of the world’s largest engineering companies, will help Conestoga College augment its existing curriculum.Under a new agreement, Conestoga will gain access to electronic courseware products that are used internally to train the company’s employees.

The agreement also creates opportunities for collaboration.

“You’ve got people here today that might not normally be here, so there will be further partnerships with some business people we wouldn’t have been able to get involved with,” said John Tibbits, Conestoga president.

The partnership between Lockheed Martin and Conestoga results from the federal government’s industrial and regional benefits policy, which requires firms that win military contracts to place economic benefits back into Canada.
